Ready, Aim, Fire

Saturday afternoon we decided to go to the gun range and test out the pistol Justin purchased last fall. Justin travels some for work and wants me and Grace to be safe when he's gone. I think he was pleasantly surprised at how well I did. I wasn't very comfortable shooting it because it felt too big and awkward for my hands. There was one other guy at the handgun range and he overheard me tell Justin that I was uncomfortable shooting it, so the nice gentleman let me fire a few rounds of his gun. People in Texas are so friendly.. they even share their firearms.
Here is Justin loading our "borrowed" gun

I'm pointing to the the area of the target that I was aiming for. You can't see it very well, but I actually hit the bullseye

See... I told you

Here's a shot of the nice guy who loaned us his gun

Finally...

So last weekend was Easter AND Grace's baby blessing. We had such a wonderful time visiting with our family. We had eight people travel to Texas to spend the weekend with us. On Thursday, March 20, we celebrated Justin's birthday as well as his grandma's birthday by having a barbeque. On Friday we drove to Shreveport, Louisiana to do some shopping. The boys enjoyed strolling through the Bass Pro Shop while the girls shopped the outlet's. We even enjoyed local cuisine... kind of. There was a little restaurant at the outlet mall where we ate. Some had fried catfish and some had gumbo. We even ordered fried pickles. They weren't bad, but I would've like to have tried the deep fried oreos instead. Yum Yum! On Saturday all the boys went to the East Texas Oil Museum near Justin's work. The girls stayed home and relaxed and played games. Sunday was the day everyone had come for. Grace was a beautiful baby in her white dress. Justin did a wonderful job on the blessing. It was so sweet and inspired. Grace didn't even make a sound. She was so alert and bright eyed the whole time. Our family has truly been blessed and we so grateful to have such a loving Heavenly Father. We have truly seen His hand in our lives. We hope you had a great Easter as well as you were able to celebrate Our Savior's Atonement and Resurrection.
